Wedding Guests Sign In Ideas – Think Outside the Box

March 3, 2020 adrienne Leave a comment

Before I begin this blog, I want to thank DK Hebert Photography for providing a couple of the photos I am using in this post.  If you are looking for a wonderful, professional, understanding, patient and easy to get along with photographer, look them up on my website, Magnolia Court Wedding Guide under Photographers.  You won’t be disappointed.

Times have changed….and for the better!   Years ago it was called a Guests Book.  It was a book for the wedding guests to sign,  that let’s face it…we never took it out of the closet to look at again!

A couple used their photo for guests to sign as a guestbook keepsake.I love the idea of the photo of the couple,  where the guests sign on the border of the photo, or in this case, on the photo itself.  This can be framed and hung up on their wall.  Another great idea!  As  you can see in the photo above, my nephew, Ferdara, and his husband, Michael, used this idea!A platter used afor the wedding guests to sign.

When my son, Zack and his wife, Kaysha were married, I bought them a platter.  Guests signed the platter and then it was put in the oven to cure.  They can hang it on the wall and use it for holidays for the roast, turkey or whatever!

I received two photos from DK Hebert Photography, that shows a couple of ideas some of her couples used.  As you can see in the photos below……these ideas are so creative!

A couples sign in area, type a message for them.

A wooden platter for wedding guests to sign.

One of my favorites is using a bench.  When I had my reception hall, one of my bride’s fiance made a porch swing…..knowing they were planning to buy a house and wanted a swing on the porch.  They had their guests sign the bench and then he sealed it.   I did find out later…they did buy the house with the porch…and yes, the swing is up!  Love it!

As you can see in the photo above, one of our clients had a small wedding on the beach in Florida.  For their reception here in Lafayette, they bought shells that the guests signed.  Then the shells were put in a shadow box and hung on their wall.  Cool idea!

I’ve also had one bride who’s grandmother was a quilter.  She made them a quilt using 4″ blocks.  Every other block was ivory and the other block colors matched their wedding colors.  Each guest wrote on the ivory block with a special fabric pen.  The blocks are then ironed to seal the ink.   That is such a  memorable item to have and use!

Long gone is the Sign In Book…..and that’s good!  Thinking outside the box for the guests sign in table is an awesome alternative.  Whatever you decide to do, remember it’s especially nice if you can see it and perhaps use it, like the ideas above.

Happy Planning!
